04 / About the practice

Attention is a form of fieldwork.

Film · Writing · Photography · Theatre

Paige C. T. Croucher is an Edmonton-based interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, writer, photographer, and theatre practitioner. Her work follows the relationships between people, places, objects, and the systems through which everyday life takes shape.

She brings more than a decade of practical experience across film, theatre, and live events, including scenic work, props, rigging, lighting, and special effects. That experience informs a practice attentive to how things are made, maintained, assembled, and inhabited.

Her disciplines continually inform one another. A method learned in production can sharpen an essay; a photograph can open a philosophical question; walking through a city can change the way a scene is written. She works through these exchanges, allowing observation to revise the question as the work develops.

Current bodies of work include Edmonton Observer, the International Cloud Welfare Commission, and moving-image projects including Magnum Opus and Afterimage. Across these forms, she approaches ordinary life as a source of evidence, curiosity, and sustained inquiry.
